Just about everyone has heard of Rolex watches and there are many very informative pages dedicated to this manuacturer that I won't go too deep into their history. Founded by Hans Wilsdorf together with his brother-in-law in 1905 the company begun by using the name Wilsdorf & Davis. 然olex' was registred as a trademark in 1908. At first W&D used ebauches supplied by Aegler and cases produced in UK. In 1919 Wilsdorf started Manufacture des Montres Rolex with movement made in Bienne and finished in Geneva.
In 1926 Rolex made first waterproof watch wich they called 前yster'. In 1931 self-winding movement called 善erpetual' was produced. This was followed by船ate-Just' in 1945, the 全ubmariner' in 1953, 賎MT Master' in 1954 and 船ay-Date' model in 1956.
